god of war ps2 dvd5
I was just wondering if it would be possible to put God of War 2 onto 2 DVD5's instead of ripping it and putting it on one. Like if you put all the files from layer 0 on the first DVD, and the same on the other but with PART2.PAK instead of PART1.PAK. I just thought this could work as long as the game does not use files from both at the same time.

The reduction in quality or outright removal of videos seems somewhat uneccesary considering the game could and can be split into two DVD5's. However, I know it can be done, but i'm unsure as to how exactly one would split God of War 2 from a DVD9 onto seperate DVD5's.one for each layer. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

@vigneshvampire will add a "delete" file button. btw looks like you want to have a model importer. it's not hard to implement importer for .obj multitexture static files (with 1 root bone). Also, be aware that size of every wad is pre-calculated. It means that game data memory heap size for this wad is located in the first tag of wad file. If you view this tag in browser you will not see it, but if you download it and open in hex editor you will see that wad archive " (for example) has a limitation in heap size = 0x380000 bytes. You can change this value manually uploading by file for this tag via browser, but then you need to know this: Game has static-sized heap allocations for different types of wad files. I included a picture with capture of heaps. You can see that weapons and skills are located in "Upgrade" allocation. Enemies are allocated in "Slots" heap. There is also a separated heap for hero skin. And "Levels" heap stands for "world" wads. Simultaneously can be loaded only 2 "world" wad files. Each time you change level one of "world" wad allocations (either top or bottom one) is destroyed and new wad is loaded on its place. You can't see on the picture, because this wad is loaded super early and its allocation is a base allocation for other allocations. You can find the sizes of each wad heap if you open switch tab to 'Tags' instead of 'Nodes' and search for HEAP_SIZE string. Some levels (like desert) are packed super tightly. Often big "open" levels are changed by small "gate" levels to manage memory. Slots on some levels are filled fully too. So be aware that change of these values is risky, and game can crash any time you will add a bigger texture or model. And in theory, crash can be caught in rare situations (a lot of animated enemies and effects on screen).

Swap Magic can't do it. But other than that, i would say 97% of the games out there are regular DVD5 and you just use the method provided. MODE->ISO->READ. MODE->ISO->WRITE. make sure you use good media too. if you do get it chipped i think your best 2 choices are. DMS4 Pro or Lite or Matrix Infinity.

It will then extract to an .ISO in that same folder. When it's finished extracting, scroll to the bottom of the folder and you will see the .iso file. Be sure you have a dual layer dvd burner, and dual layer media to burn it on. For people that either dont have a DL burner of have something like Swap Magic they will need to rebuild it onto a DVD-/+R. To the guy asking about HDD, if you've downloaded the 6gb ISO then you can install it to HDD just like any other game using WINHIIP or similar.
